I have always been an outspoken individual – unfortunately this has made me many friends and has lost me just as much.   I am a believer – in the rights of others in this country, as well as my own.   As a mother, I find Women’s Rights, and the perceived assault on them by this administration to not only be startling, but also eye opening.   As women struggle to earn the same as men, to be treated fairly and equitably, and to have choices when it comes to their bodies – my need to be vocal came to sound like a deafening scream trapped in my head. I couldn’t stay quiet anymore.   I just couldn’t. We marched, across the United States of America, and in other countries too.   We marched, to show everyone that we wouldn’t stand for it any longer.   We marched because we are stronger together and there really is strength in numbers....

Selfie I am a writer and my name is Desiree Roundtree.   Most people introduce themselves using their name first, but sometimes I guess I don’t really feel like myself but I always feel like a writer.   I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and I believe that has contributed a lot to my personality.   I am married to a great guy named Damon and we have a daughter named Kaelyn, lovingly referred to as Snips because we are the ultimate Star Wars fans.   I am pretty much a geek – I am a Star Wars fanatic, I collect mugs, I wear glasses, and my dream thesis paper would be to write about the philosophical ramifications of using the Force.   I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia, which sucks but apparently, I am tough since I push through a lot of the issues that come along with it.   I have also been told I am quite the comedian.   I’m just me – crazy and sometimes inappropriate, but always me.
