Tools and Reflections

With all the choices available to create stories, I couldn’t figure out what kind of product I wanted to use to create and distribute my work that would look good, be user-friendly and accessible.   I played with a few options – like Animoto and even an app called   PowerDirector .   I found both tools clumsy and to be honest I didn’t like the options I had when coming to either playing music OR recording voice. I found AdobeSpark to be the easiest to use.   This platform gave me the ability to add photo, video, music, and narration.   It was also easy to edit the vocal narration if I wanted to record again.   The software also told me when I was talking too long for one slide, and pretty much warned me to speed it up. For my first digital story, #Resist, I utilized my own photos and videos from various marches and protests I have attended in the last month.   I plan to utilize my own pictures, and videos to create the stories I put forth this semester.   I wanted this

#Resist - Mobile Story 1

#Resist by Des Roundtree Script -  Resist – verb. Definition – to withstand the action or effects of. I have always been an outspoken individual – unfortunately this has made me many friends and has lost me just as much.   I am a believer – in the rights of others in this country, as well as my own.   As a mother, I find Women’s Rights, and the perceived assault on them by this administration to not only be startling, but also eye opening.   As women struggle to earn the same as men, to be treated fairly and equitably, and to have choices when it comes to their bodies – my need to be vocal came to sound like a deafening scream trapped in my head. I couldn’t stay quiet anymore.   I just couldn’t. We marched, across the United States of America, and in other countries too.   We marched, to show everyone that we wouldn’t stand for it any longer.   We marched because we are stronger together and there really is strength in numbers.  We are still marching.   Women a
